MY Sunshine doesn't come from sun-rise. It comes from the love in my Bella's eyes. ππ
Wow!! That enchanting smell lingers long after my Bella has walked this path.
Will never be able to understand, what is more beautiful, her smell or she herself.
Hey, first let me introduce myself so that there is no confusion. I am a street-smart badass canine, in short i am a dog, born and raised on the road. I wish street dogs also had some exotic breed named after them, after all we need respect too.
Meet Bella, the love of my life. She is a mixed breed Labrador with a shiny white and brown coat and the world's most beautiful eyes. Just the right mix of browns and hazel. Oh!! how I love those eyes. I've been enthralled by her captivating demeanour, from the day my eyes saw her and my olfactory senses felt her. For a fleeting moment, the world had ceased to exist. It was just me and her, till she was pulled away and taken into her mansion. Her deep brown gaze, as she walked past me with a soft sigh, has never left my mind for the last seven years.
My daily routine comprises only of keeping track of her walks, just to catch a glimpse of her, if luck favours going closer to communicate my feelings for her, just to her, my beloved Bella.
I keep thinking if only Sir, (yes that's Bella's master, I prefer to call him Sir, want to portray myself as sophisticated to my future father in law) would relent, I could happily make Bella my duly wedded wife. He could be our marriage ceremony conductor, announcing us as the Wonderful couple as we take our Wedding Vows (bow-wowsππ). Then finally telling me to kiss
(πsniff) the bride.
But all that makes me feel as if I am living in some fool's paradise. I am a street urchin, having lived and survived as a street dog, homeless and hungry at times or hunting on my own, fighting my way out with other street dogs.
At one point I had been a sickly and weak puppy being shooed away from everywhere till I found this posh lane with elegant houses and kind people. Finally, once I saw Bella, I decided I was staying here forever. Yes, of course, I have practically grown up eating her leftovers which were put for me outside her house in a small plastic box. That was that. Now I am a full-grown, well I consider myself a handsome black street smart stud. This lane is my home and I don't allow any wandering beast into it. No competition please or else fight me out, which is not easy. Bella and myself, we are both possessive about our territory, she shows her aggression in growling barks from her balcony and I am ready on the road for a confrontation with any unfamiliar entry.
At times I have felt her reciprocating my lovelorn π howling with her low pitched one on moonlit nights, looking at me from her balcony. When she comes down for her twice-daily walks I make it a point to be around, so that she can walk past me and I can look at her lovingly.
Once when Sir was busy on a call while walking with her, I slyly went up to her and licked her face. Sir got so angry, shouting at me, he immediately took Bella for a wash in the garden. I felt utter despair for being treated like an untouchable although the part where I caught Bella smiling π made me jump with happiness.
Yesterday, a new family had shifted to our colony, They seem mean and the unfriendly kind. They are owners of a pair of twin Rottweilers, whose first glimpse had made me shudder with fright. Oh God! how am I going to keep my head held high in front of these menacingly ferocious troublemakers.
Today is a new day, I thought to myself as I waited for Bella to come down with Sir for her morning walk. She is my sunshine. Bright and happy, always. As she was walking, I realized the Rottweilers were too out for walk with their master. The moment they saw Bella, they ran for her breaking away from their leashes. I sensed violence. I just couldn't let them touch her. Sir had started moving in the other direction not realising the danger behind. He turned suddenly perceiving the threat as the twins were about to pounce on Bella. With all the strength I could muster I just jumped right on their faces. Their master was running to catch up...both were very fierce in their attack, I didn't care for my life, I had to save her. I bit them real hard, blood spouting from the back of one and the other I scratched his eye, both were whimpering in pain. They were double in size and number but I had been fighting street dogs since infancy. I had all the experience of how to win even the most gruesome of battles. Soon they moved away from me. I kept growling at them. They attacked again, this time more aggressively. They were as ferocious as wolves, with saliva dripping out of their mouths. Out of the blue, Bella came savagely attacking the brats. Now the match was ours. Both of us fought with renewed strengths. Even Sir couldn't get Bella out of it. Finally the twins stepped back. Their master was able to leash them and left muttering, "these street dogs are not even vaccinated..."
As they left, I turned around not realising I was bleeding too. Sir, patted me kindly, calling out to the caretaker from his house. Both helped Bella and me inside the car. Together we went to the vet. My first drive with my Belovedππ.
