NO# The Subtle art of refusing


Disclaimer: I am participating in Blogging from A-Z challenge 2022 and this is my post for N # "NO" THE SUBTLE ART OF REFUSING

At times it gets really difficult to say No 🤐 

You may think why, really why is it so ?🤨

It's a small word, very easy to pronounce 🤨

The energy used while uttering will just be an ounce 🙃

But it gets difficult at times when I want to show I care.😬

And to the person asking  , it shall not be  fair😐

One may think 🤔 it might hurt her/ his feelings 

But the very idea of saying Yes, at times, is just NOT APPEALING. 😖

There can be situations like when u are questioned

How do you like the dress I have designed..?

The friend is close and u don't mean to hurt🤫

 it's ABSOLUTELY GREAT you assert 🙂

TO WHICH SHE SAYS ITS ALL YOURS 🙄

A GIFT WHICH HAD BEEN PENDING FOR YEARS 😏

I Want to shout Nooooo😱

But how do I do soooo 😫

 SOME SITUATIONS CAN REALLY GET AWKWARD 

A neighbor got hooked onto singing 

Day in day out she kept recording 

These audios were sent to all the residents 

Sharing it on our Whatsapp group,  she didn't seem hesitant 

She just wanted to be admired 🥰and applauded 

But every one seemed tired and irritated

I tried to oblige her by appreciating 😇

To which she simply came over for an evening of LIVE SINGING 🙄

Even a NO wouldn't have helped me in that case 🙄

She was simply blind to the expressions on my face😒

 

It was Valentine's Day and a friend wanted me to become her savior 😏

She wanted me to babysit her two kids as a favor😐

I couldn't refuse although I had plans too 🙄

when she returned, she even forgot to say thank you 😑

My whole house had simply turned into a mess

I had thrown the axe on my foot by saying a YESS


I don't know how to refuse if I don't want to do a certain thing 🤔

 Just trying to show,  I m so caring and loving 🙄

This is, I know absolute hypocrisy 🙄

Always trying to behave sweet and nicey 😑


Why can't I call a spade, a spade 🙄😒

Even if anyone persuades😏

It should still remain a spade 🤨

The No needs to be subtle and not blunt 😐

That's the art  which I haven't yet learnt🤔

REPERCUSSIONS # It's OK to be called selfish and thoughtless 😑

If it eases your vexations but makes you friendless 😑

LESSON LEARNT # Most of the times I've asked favors I've seldom received a yess 🙄

But, the No was so tactful that it sounded simply natural and effortless 😏

    You always make me smile. Saying no is very difficulty yes but finding a midline and excusing yourself can work. The dress and singing bits are hilarious 😂😂

    It seems to get easier to say no the more you do it. I think I'd have to say NO if someone wanted to come to my house and sing. That sounds awful!

    It indeed is hard to say no.Strangely, we can say ‘no’ to only those people who are very close to us and we know they won’t leave our side.

DRIZZLE TO DOWN POUR

  Disclaimer:  I am participating in  Blogging from A-Z challenge 2022  and this is my 4 the post for  D # Drizzle to Downpour  I was in the first year of college. We were given a preparatory leave for our midterm exams. It was Monsoon time.  That day I had a project to submit so had to go to college. Normally my whole group of friends would board the bus together, but today I had no company. The sky seemed clear. I felt if I could get the bus at 8, reach college around 9, and submit the assignment, I could be back by 10 o clock. That way I could save the rest of the day for studying. I just took my wallet, put my project done so prudently in my bag and off I went.  I boarded the almost empty bus and took my favourite window seat. Whenever commuting to and fro, I have crossed the Howrah Bridge, I have always felt so relaxed. The cool breeze from the Hooghly river whispering in my ear always brought tranquillity and peace. The bus had great momentum. I felt I could reach even before 9.

   Disclaimer:  I am participating in  Blogging from A-Z challenge 2022  and this is my post for R# RUN LOLA RUN When I was young, the world was beautiful,  nice and green 🌴🌳🌲🪴🌿🌿🍀☘🌱 I was scared of dying and leaving the fun in between 🌺🌷⚘🌼🌻🥀🌹🏵💐 As I grew older it became a little less merriment 🙁 As homework and expectations took the place of enjoyment 🙃 I thought it was all temporary  Once I reached adulthood, it will again be merry 🙂  So till then RUN LOLA RUN 🏃‍♀️  The fun will soon return  As I became an adult, soon came matrimony and parenthood 👨‍👩‍👧‍👦 The need of the hour said to fulfil my duties as a good wife and mother should 🤹‍♀️ The sun still shone beautifully 🌞  And the birds chirped happily 🦜🦜  Yet RUN LOLA RUN  So much still needs to be done ✔  Life was smooth, just a little hectic 😇 Till out of the blue came the PANDEMIC🤔 I wish it was an albatross and I the ancient Mariner😈 I could have easily shot it with my gun to keep the world happier.
